It is possible to upgrade Secret Server when the server can not connect to the Thycotic Server. If this is the case, Step 4 of the installation process will contain an 'Advanced' section.
In order to Upgrade perform the following actions:
- Back-Up the Secret Server installation folder.
- Back-Up the Secret Server database.
- Navigate to your Secret Server's web site.
- Change the page to 'installer.aspx'. ex: https://<yoursecretserverurl>/installer.aspx
- Click 'Next' buttons until you get to Step 4.
- Click the 'Advanced' link.
- Click the 'Download Latest Version' link
- Save the ZIP file on the local computer.
- Click 'Browse...' and navigate to the file that was just downloaded.
- Click the 'Upload File' Button.
- Click the 'Next' Button.
WARNING: Do NOT modify the downloaded ZIP file. This may lead to a failed upgrade, and possible corruption of your installation. It is always preferable that Secret Server automatically obtain the upgrade file itself.
