Version 7.1.x and later
Once Secret Server is installed, it may be necessary to change the connection string that Secret Server uses to connect to the database.

Once you are installed, you must be authenticated to access the installer and have a role permission for Administer Configuration. From the home page, your URL will look something like this:

https://myserver/SecretServer/home.aspx.

Change the page name, home.aspx to DBConnectionReset.aspx. Your URL will become this:

https://myserver/SecretServer/DBConnectionReset.aspx

Click next to get past step 1.

In step 3, you will enter the new SQL Server connection information. Click next to complete the database update.  Click next once you get the message 'The database connection settings have been reset. '  This will return you to the home page.

Note: Once the connection information has been changed, you must perform an IIS reset or recycle Secret Server's AppPool. Secret Server caches the Connection String and this step is required to clear the cache.
