Up until Secret Server 3.0, Microsoft Access was a fully supported database option. Unfortunately Microsoft Access is not designed for concurrent access by web applications and the limitations have finally caught up with us in 3.0. The bulk operations and export capability are not available if you are using a Microsoft Access backend. By dropping Microsoft Access support, we are hoping to spend less time fighting Access limitations and more time implementing customer features. I think you will also find that SQL Server is a far better option for performance and scalability.
We will also be ending our support for Microsoft Access at the 3.0 release with no further upgrades for Microsoft Access beyond 3.0. We recommend installing Microsoft SQL Server (you can even use the free Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition).
If you are still using Microsoft Access with Secret Server, please contact technical support and we will help you upgrade away from Microsoft Access.
